My New Road Race Motorcycle

After a 15 year break from road racing, I can’t take it anymore and want to get back into it. Because time is limited and I didn’t want to wrap up a ton of money into it, I decided I’ll dip my toe back in first and try my hand at MiniGP racing. It’s basically small bikes on a gokart track but still a lot of fun. For this project I started with a 2006 Honda CRF100 as my platform. I swapped the front wheel for a 16″ off of a CRF80. I outfitted it with Bridgestone BT46 tires, new tubes, new rim strips, new rim locks and new wheel bearings. For the controls I went with Motion Pro, brake and clutch levers/perches, new Honda cables, ODI lock on trips and Enduro Engineering bar wraps. For suspension, aside from new work oil and seals, I went with BBR HD springs front/rear. The drive kit consists of JT sprockets and a D.I.D 428 chain. I picked up a new Neutron seat cover from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. The plastics are Honda CRF70 and I had the guys at DeCalWorks take care of the graphics. An oil change, fresh air filter from Twin Air, a Tusk fold-in shifter and a handful of other things I’m sure I missed, my 2006 Honda CRF MiniGP bike is ready to rip. Oh, and don’t forget to hang around to see a sneak peek of my 2021 Cross Country Motorcycle Trip. The series will be debuting later this year.
